FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT – HERMANUS

Our client is looking for a Financial Accountant to join their dynamic team!

The main responsibilities will include:

  • Financial Asset register: depreciation and work in progress of Capital Projects
  • VAT: complete and manage Vat Submissions and Payments
  • Journals: process/ completeness control
  • Monthly Ledger account reconciliations: including assets, Sundry Debtors and Sundry Creditors
  • Reconcile intercompany loan accounts: cost recovery and invoicing
  • Petty Cash approvals: align with creditors book
  • Submit and payment of PAYE, UIF, SDL, WCA
  • Monitor and report on accounting discrepancies
  • Cost analysis: Monthly basis prepare/declare the variances between actuals spent vs budget
  • Perform Month-end and Year-end close processes: e.g. Lease and deferred income smoothing
  • Internal audits on request
  • Inventory – monthly recons, stock takes etc.
  • Other as per managements request

Financial Accountant Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Financial Accountant
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and financial transactions
  • Familiarity with financial regulations, i.e. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Knowledge of MS Office and databases
  • Pastel accounting package experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Reliability and strong work ethics
  • Ability to solve problems
  • Organisation, Financial Software, Reporting Skills, Attention to Detail, PC Proficiency, Typing, Productivity, Dependability
  • Tertiary Accounting Qualification Bachelor of Accounting Science or B Commerce in Accounting
